What FSD (Supervised) does
- Navigates on highways and city streets: follows the route, changes lanes, takes exits and turns at intersections.
- Handles traffic controls: stops for traffic lights and stop signs and proceeds when it judges it safe.
- Parks and summons: Autopark and, where available, Actually Smart Summon to bring the car to you in a parking lot.
- Requires supervision: you must watch the road and be ready to take over immediately. The cabin camera checks attention, and repeated warnings can suspend the feature.
Every Tesla already has basic Autopilot: traffic-aware cruise control and Autosteer on marked roads. FSD adds the city-street driving, automatic lane changes and navigation. Behaviour improves with software updates, but it still makes mistakes, especially in construction zones, unusual intersections, heavy rain and snow.

Since February 14, 2026, FSD (Supervised) in the US is subscription-only at $99 a month; the one-time $8,000 purchase was dropped.
