What a buyer gets (Canada, October 2026): 3 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on a new Model 3 or Model Y ordered through an owner’s referral link, including leases and new inventory cars. No cash discount. The link must be used before the order is placed.
Tesla does not publish these terms in a form we could fetch automatically, so this summary is based on third-party trackers that checked Tesla’s app and order pages in September and October 2026. Tesla changes the program often: the order summary is the final word.

What happened to the $1,300 referral discount?
If you searched for a “Tesla referral $1,300” offer, you found an older version of the program. Tesla has switched between cash discounts, Supercharging credit and FSD trials several times. Guides from 2024 to early 2026 described cash discounts in Canada, such as $650 off a Model 3 or Model Y and $1,300 off pricier models. By September 2026, trackers reported that the cash discounts were gone and the buyer perk had become the FSD trial.
Any site still promising a cash discount from a referral code is likely out of date. Check the order summary on Tesla’s site: if a benefit applies, it is listed there before you pay.
Is 3 months of FSD worth anything?
It is a free trial of Tesla’s driver-assistance package, which otherwise costs a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase (see Tesla’s current Canadian pricing). It lets you try it on your commute and highway trips before deciding whether to pay. FSD (Supervised) requires an attentive driver at all times; it does not make the car autonomous. More in our FSD trial guide.
The perk does not change your price, financing rate or rebate eligibility, so there is no downside to using one if you were going to order anyway.
How to use a Tesla referral link in Canada
- Open the referral link on the device you will order from.
- Configure your car on Tesla’s site in the same browser session.
- Before paying the order fee, check the order summary lists the referral benefit.
- Place the order. If the benefit is missing, stop and contact Tesla before paying; it cannot be added later.
- The FSD trial is activated on the car after delivery.
Referral vs loyalty credit vs Everyday Heroes
- Loyalty credit: existing or former Tesla owners have been offered a loyalty credit (reported at $650) instead. It does not stack with a referral.
- Everyday Heroes: Tesla’s discount for eligible groups (reported at $1,000, verified through ID.me) is reported to stack with a referral.
- Government rebates: separate from Tesla offers. Only the Model Y RWD has been reported eligible for the federal $5,000 EVAP rebate; Quebec’s Roulez vert pays up to $2,000 in 2026. See Canadian Tesla rebates.
Disclosure
Tesla Tested links to the site owner’s own Tesla referral link. If you take delivery after ordering through it, Tesla gives the owner referral credits. That is how this site is funded. It costs you nothing and you get the same buyer perk as with any other owner’s link. We are not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.
Frequently asked questions
What do you get with a Tesla referral code in Canada?
As of October 2026, a buyer who orders a new Model 3 or Model Y through an owner’s referral link gets 3 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Third-party trackers report the same for eligible Cybertruck trims. There is no cash discount.
Is the $1,300 Tesla referral discount still available in Canada?
No. Earlier versions of the program in Canada paid cash discounts (guides from 2024 to early 2026 cite figures such as $650 off a Model 3 or Model Y and $1,300 off a Model S, Model X or Cybertruck). Those discounts are reported to have ended; the current buyer benefit is the FSD trial.
Can I add a referral code after I order my Tesla?
No. Tesla’s terms say a referral has to be applied when the order is placed. Open the referral link first, configure and order in the same browser session, and check the order summary shows the benefit before paying.
Does the Tesla referral work on a lease or an inventory car?
Reported yes for new inventory vehicles and leases, the same as a custom order. Used and certified pre-owned Teslas are not eligible.
Can I combine a referral with other Tesla offers?
Trackers report that the referral benefit can combine with Tesla’s Everyday Heroes discount for eligible groups, but not with the loyalty credit offered to existing or past Tesla owners. If you already own a Tesla, compare which is worth more to you.
What does the person who referred me get?
Tesla gives the referring owner credits (reported as $325 CAD after you take delivery). Credits are not cash. In British Columbia, residents can receive buyer benefits but not referrer rewards.
