Tesla does not publish a fixed terms page that can be checked automatically (tesla.com blocks it), so these terms come from referral trackers that re-check Tesla’s Refer and Earn page: teslareferralregister.com (last re-verified July 13, 2026, unchanged since March) and an October 25, 2026 roundup. Tesla changes perks with little notice. The only thing that counts is what your order summary shows before you pay.
What changed in 2026
- March 2026: Tesla overhauled the North American program. Model S and Model X were removed, and the Cybertruck’s $1,000 referral discount became the 3-month FSD trial (Dual Motor AWD dropped out).
- February 2026: FSD became subscription-only in the US at $99 a month, which is why the perk is a timed trial rather than a transfer of a purchased package.
- Earlier years: referral perks have included free Supercharging miles, cash discounts and Tesla credits. None of those apply to Model 3 or Model Y in October 2026.
How to use a referral link, step by step
- Open the referral link on the device you will order from. It takes you to tesla.com with the referral attached. There is no code to type.
- Configure the car: model, trim, paint, wheels, interior.
- Choose cash, finance or lease and enter your delivery ZIP code so tax and fees are calculated.
- Check the order summary for the referral benefit before you pay the order fee. If it is missing, stop and reopen the link.
- Place the order. The FSD trial is activated after delivery.
Does a referral stack with other offers?
The referral does not replace or reduce anything else. You keep Tesla’s promotional APR (see current financing rates), any lease offer, state or utility rebates on your state page, and the federal loan interest deduction if you qualify. New deliveries have also been reported to include a separate 30-day FSD trial and a Premium Connectivity trial; those come from Tesla, not the referral.
Is FSD (Supervised) worth trying?
FSD (Supervised) can steer, change lanes, take highway exits, stop at lights and stop signs and navigate city streets, but you must keep your hands ready and eyes on the road at all times; it does not make the car autonomous.
